Long Term Absence

If your child's entire class has been quarantined for an extended period of time, your child's teacher may begin teaching remotely.  In this scenario, your child will use his or her school-issued Chromebook to attend class meetings and complete virtual learning assignments.  Follow the steps below to begin your child's online learning experience.  All logins and passwords can be accessed from the following locations: Google Classroom (located in both Teacher and Specialty classrooms) and Class Tag (see communication from Michelle Fojtik).

  1. Login to Google Classroom

Your child's day will begin in Google Classroom.  Students should login to the website and check the Stream page for announcements and directions from their teacher.  Many mornings will begin with a class Google Meeting.  Classroom teachers will share their meeting URLs with you on the stream page.

2. Join a Google Meeting

To join a Google Meeting, you will click on a Google Meeting link (web URL).  Students' classroom teachers will share their Google Meeting urls with you on the stream page of Google Classroom.  You can find Specialty teacher's Google Meetings inside their own Google Classrooms.  Watch the video to the left to learn more about how to participate in a Google Meeting.

Remember... your teacher has to start the meeting before you can join it.  If you arrive before the teacher, wait a few minutes and then try to rejoin.

3. View and submit work to Google Classroom

Students can receive and submit classwork through Google Classroom.  In the video on the left, follow the steps to submit a classwork assignment where the teacher has given a digital document to be returned by the student.
