Google Classroom

  1. Signing into RMS Google Account from Home

Google Classroom serves as a way teachers can communicate and share digital instruction with their students.  At school, students access Google Classroom from their  school issued Chromebooks.  At home, parents and students can access Google Classroom from a home computer.  Please see Class Tag for for Logins/Passwords.

2. Navigating Google Classroom

Our elementary students belong to two Google Classrooms: Classroom Teacher and Specialty Teachers. After clicking on the desired classroom, find the "Classwork" tab to locate your child's assignments.  The classwork page is divided by subject.

Rug: The rug features all of our communication tools, including Google Meeting links, weekly schedules, work plans, and usernames/passwords for our various electronic resources.

Language, Math, Cultural: Teachers will share language, math, and cultural assignments in this space.  As you can see it's organized by subject.

Old Work: To reduce clutter on our classwork page, teachers will move older assignments into the "Old Work" section at the bottom of the page.

Speciality Teachers

Students will continue to meet with specialty teachers (Technology, Art, PE, Music, Spanish) during remote learning sessions.  Specialty teachers will share one Google Classroom this school year.   Within this class, speciality teachers have their own, individual space where they list contact information, announcements, and the weekly lesson.  Previous lessons will be moved to the bottom of the page under the heading "Old Work."

3. Viewing and submitting work to Google Classroom

Students can receive and submit classwork through Google Classroom.  In the video on the left, follow the steps to submit a classwork assignment where the teacher has given a digital document to be returned by the student.
